WHAT'S THE RULES?

Vintage Bash Rules:

Eligibility

1/ The 2WD or 4WD buggy must have been released and raced before Jan 2000 to be considered "Vintage" , re-released buggies, such as the recent models from Tamiya, Team Associated, Kyosho and Schumacher are also deemed eligible.

If you’re concerned about your buggy’s eligibility, ask us here and we can confirm /deny entry.

We recommend try keeping your buggy as standard as possible as to what was seen racing on track back in the day.

2/ Please keep in mind the spirit of this class , a lot of these cars are fragile and parts can be hard to impossible to source, Exhibition is what this class is all about !

As such , we are keeping the ruling simple :

General Vintage Rules:

1/ Only 2s Lipo batteries that appear on the RCRA battery list may be used or for the purists, 6 cell Nicd/ Nimh

2/ Brushless Speed controllers to be used in "Blinky" mode only , no boost

3/ Weight limit as follows :

2wd 1450gm , 4wd 1550gm - this will not be checked , although if cars are seen to have been modified to the extreme in regards to weight saving, the weight limit rule will come in at the race director's discretion.

4/ Wheels are obviously allowed to be changed in order to use modern style tyres.

No truck wheels to be used on buggies , remember we are trying to keep them looking like they did 20+ years ago.

2WD and 4WD must run 'pin' type tires, no modern 'bar' type. In addition, 2WD must run ribbed fronts.

5/ The maximum permitted buggy width is 250mm , we ask you to try do whatever is possible to keep your vintage buggy within this limit understanding that in some instances your vintage buggy with a new style wheel conversion may be close or even slightly over this width.

2 Wheel Drive

1/ Any commercially available brushless 21.5 motor , with a maximum final drive gearing ratio of 6:1

2/ For those who want or prefer to run "Brushed' in any early style buggy - Silver can Johnson or Mabuchi OR a brushed 27t roar legal stock motor.

4 Wheel Drive

1/ Any commercially available brushless 17.5 motor , GEAR RATIO IS UNRESTRICTED -

2/ For those who want or prefer to run "Brushed' in any early style buggy , same deal as 2WD - Silver can Johnson or Mabuchi OR a brushed 27t roar legal stock motor.

Monster Truck (Tamiya Monster trucks as well as Stadium Race Trucks (RC10T, JRXT etc)

1/ Any commercially available brushless 17.5 motor.

2/ For those who want or prefer to run "Brushed' - Silver can Johnson or Mabuchi OR a brushed 27t roar legal stock motor.

Comical Cup

1/ Any of the 5 current Tamiya 'Comical' series are eligible.

Hornet, Frog, Grasshopper, Avante and Hotshot. Also the previously released Wild Willy 2.

2/ Box stock kit preferred, although bearings may be added and a 20T pinion used. Upgrades such as the front skid plate (54796) and Alloy Motor guard (54817) are permitted as these offer no performance increase.

3/Original kit wheels/tires (or equivalent)

4/ No timing, No transponders, up to 15 cars on the track at once, just 5 mins of pure racing mayhem!

Looking forward to seeing these old relics on track !
